Planetary gearboxes are an integral part of sugar mills. They are responsible for transmitting power from the motor to the cane-crushing rollers. Therefore, if a gearbox fails, the entire mill operation comes to a halt, leading to significant losses in production and revenue.
Helical Gear Box
​The main purpose of helical gears as power transmission devices is to enhance torque and decrease speed between rotating shafts. They can be broadly split into two types: the ones transmitting mechanical energy between parallel parts and cross-axis gears transferring energy between non-parallel parts.
Worm gear applications include speed reducers, elevators, machine tools, chain blocks, fishing reels and automotive power steering.
